The information of the ‘suspicious object’ inside the Amritsar-bound train was received around 1.15 am on Wednesday night.
Amethi, Aug 10: The passengers of Akal Takht Express train were left in a state of panic on Thursday after the recovery of ‘suspicious object’ from AC-B3 coach of train number 12317. As a result, the train was halted at Akbarganj Railway Station near Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. The Bomb Disposal Squad and the Amethi Police have reached the spot and have reportedly, identified the ‘suspicious object’ as a low intensity bomb which has been defused.
As per reports, the information of the ‘suspicious object’ inside the Amritsar-bound train was received around 1.15 am on Wednesday night. Lucknow Division RPF Commandant Satya Prakash has been quoted as saying by a report that the recovery of a bomb-like ‘suspicious object’ was made from near the toilet.
As per CNN-News18 report, a handwritten letter has been recovered along with the ‘low intensity bomb’, which warns that there will be retaliation to the killing of top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Dujana in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 1.
Meanwhile, the train has been evacuated and a search is being carried out inside all the coaches by the Amethi police and the Bomb Disposal Squad. At the time of filing this report, the train was running late by 231 minutes.
