BJP observes “Black Day”, protests on Emergency’s anniversary
Congress murdered democracy by imposing emergency, stated J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina as the party observed “Black Day” to denounce Emergency imposed by Congress in 1975.
Bharatiya Janata Party leaders led by party President Ravinder Raina, registered their strong protest wearing black bands outside party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, General Secretary Dr. D K Manyal, Programme Coordinator Ajay Pargal, Office Secretary Tilak Raj Gupta, Media Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Executive Committee Member Nand Kishore, BJYM President Arun Dev Singh Jamwal, District General Secretary Naresh Sharma, Subhash Gupta and others also participated in the protest against the Emergency imposed in 1975.
Ravinder Raina, during the protest, lashed out at Congress for imposing emergency and for the murder of democracy in 1975 on 25th June. He said that the highly deplorable act was performed by one of the tallest Congress leader Indira Gandhi (former Prime Minister) merely to remain in power. He said that BJP is observing Emergency anniversary as ‘Black Day’ to give respect to all those who suffered grave atrocities at the hands of Dictator of modern times.
Raina said that Congress party imposed Emergency to curb down the democratic voices and hit out at every single force that dared to challenge the wrong policies of the then government. He said that the media was gagged, opposition was terrorized, jailed and lakhs of innocent people faced the jails and were victimized on one pretest or the other. Atal ji, Advani ji and other tall leaders of the opposition were arrested and lodged in the jails at that time.
Raina said that the PM from Congress party brutally murdered democracy and announced emergency to silence away all the sane voices. Today, the whole Nation is today protesting against the barbaric decision which represents the true Congress party and its leaders even to this day.
Raina added that Emergency day will remain as black dot on Indian Democracy. Congress has always ditched our Nation and our people, and at the same time, its actions have always favoured the anti-National forces. India will never forget the black day and will never forgive Congress party for it, he stressed.
