                       Three more cases test positive posthumously

    Srinagar, July 14, CNS: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper posted at Baramulla and two women tested positive on Tuesday posthumously, taking the toll of corona victims in Jammu and Kashmir to 194.

    Together with these three cases, the total number of six deaths were recorded on Tuesday.

    An official at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital Srinagar told that the 35-year-old CRPF trooper belonged to the 66th Battalion and was stationed at Baramulla.

    “His tests returned positive a day after his death”, he said adding that the trooper was a resident of Nowshera Rajouri and was suffering from pneumonia.

    The deceased force’s personnel was later cremated in the afternoon at Srinagar Shumshan Bhoomi while following COVID related complete protocol.

    Meanwhile, in South District Anantnag, two women tested positive for coronavirus, four days after their death.

    Both were residents of Samthan Kokernag and had died on July 10.

    Earlier in the day, three coronavirus related deaths were reported from Baramulla, Shopian and Jammu due to corona.

    A 60-year-old man from Nadihal in Baramulla district died at SKIMS soura on Tuesday morning.

    He has admitted here nine days ago with multiple complaints and Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP).

    In the SKIMS Hospital, only another victim a 65-year-old man from South District Shopian breathed his last on Tuesday.

    He had already undergone cardiac bypass surgery and was also suffering from Pneumonia, a hospital official said.

    Meanwhile, a 47-year-old Agriculture Officer succumbed to the disease in Government Medical College Jammu in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

    The officer from Talab Tilloo area of Jammu, with multiple ailments and respiratory disorder, was admitted in the hospital on July 12 with a complaint of breathlessness on July 12, said a hospital official.

    With these six fresh deaths on Tuesday, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 194, with one 176 from Kashmir valley and Jammu division.
