JAMMU, FEB 13:S.K. Mishra, DGP Prisons, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Mishra briefed the Governor about issues relating to the adequacy of the existing number of jails in the State, matters relating to the day to day functioning of jails and the existing welfare programmes being run for the benefit of the prisoners.
Governor stressed the importance of every prison being run strictly as per prescriptions in the Jail Manual and the welfare of the prisoners being adequately looked after.
