SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 16: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today stressed on regular up-keeping and updation of revenue records in Kashmir Division.
He stated this while chairing a meeting to review the status of revenue records in Kashmir.
The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) said that “institution of Patwaris” is an important one and impressed them to ensure proper maintenance of records including Girdawari, Maslihat, Jamabandi.
He said that it was important that the inspection of records is undertaken at all levels and called for incorporation of mutations in records. He said pending mutations is a serious matter and directed for the same to be completed within a month. He also directed for all mutations to be attested by respective Deputy Commissioners.
The Divisional Commissioner also emphasized the importance of setting up inventories at all levels and identification of encroachments. He also sought the status of land acquisition for important roads and said the same must be addressed on war-footing, besides directing DCs to hold monthly acquisition meetings with collectors to expedite the acquisition process.
The Div Com directed for regular inspection of Roznama Wakati diaries by Patwaris every fortnightly so that all necessary details are incorporated therein and called for proper inspection of Patwarkhanas.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, officials of the Revenue Department and other concerned attended the meeting.
