Drug De-Addiction awareness programme” held in sports stadium Dooru
Anantnag,12 Oct:- In its initiative to eradicate drug menace from the society, the HUMAN RIGHTS & ANTI CORRUPTION FORUM New Delhi, Organized drug de-addiction awareness program in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Dooru and 19 RR at Sports stadium Dooru Shahabad in Anantnag district on Monday.
The focus of the programme was to provide insight to the students about the seriousness of drug addiction.
Colonel Dharmindar Yadav CO 19 RR, SDM Dooru Ghulam Rasool Wani, DSP Syed Majid Mosvi, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Dooru G.M.Dar, President MCDV Mohd Iqbal Ahanger, teachers of different Schools, along with District President Human Rights & Anti Corruption forum Engineer Sheikh Shariq, Gen.secretary Nayeem Abdullah, Organization Secretary Benazeera, etc graced the occasion.
The programme was also attended by other gusts senior citizens, students and other volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, CO 19 RR Dharmindar Yadav stressed on the importance of such programme to reach out to the youth to educate them about the menace of alcohol, drugs and substance abuse.
He also said that drug abuse has become a major social concern and the student has become very vulnerable to fall into the trap, while also urging upon the school management and teachers to pay more attention to children and take proactive steps to prevent the students from falling victims to such grave disaster drug addiction.
He also appealed to the civil society to come forward and help to eradicate this social menace.
Certificates were distributed among the participants of the awareness programme for the purpose of encouragement. District President Engineer Shariq said that drug trade was flourishing in the valley. Therefore, holding such a seminar has become inevitable.
