Banihal, March 07: Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested a drug peddler at Jawahar Tunnel and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
“Acting on a specific information, Kulgam police intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB358-9169 at command post Jawahar Tunnel. On checking of the vehicle, police recovered a kilogram of poppy straw,” said an official.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Bajan Singh, son of Santosh Singh – a resident of Pathankote – has been arrested and further investigation has been taken up.
