Deputy Election Commissioner, Sandeep Saxena, today reiterated the stand of Election Commission of India (ECI) for maintaining neutrality and strict compliance of Model Code of Conduct guidelines for the forthcoming Parliamentary bye-elections. Saxena was speaking at a meeting convened to review the poll preparedness for elections to Srinagar and Anantnag Parliamentary seats.
The meeting was attended by Returning Officers, IG Kashmir, District Election Officers, Election Observers and other concerned officials. During the meeting, Returning Officers and District Election Officers gave a detailed presentation on the poll preparedness and informed that first and second randomization of EVMs has already been completed. It was apprised that in Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency EPIC ratio stands at 94 percent.
The IG Kashmir and other concerned gave a detailed briefing to the DEC about overall security arrangements being put in place for smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Election Commissioner stressed on coordination among all the concerned departments for making the atmosphere conducive for forthcoming bye-elections.
