Baramulla, Feb 18: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday claimed to have busted a module of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit by arresting eight over-ground workers of the outfit.
A spokesman said that the arrests were made after police nabbed a militant Irshad Ahmad Shah of Seeli Sopore.
“With his (Irshad’s) arrest, police, Army and CRPF in Sopore has been able to lay hands on network of over ground activists of outfit who were aiding and abetting militancy besides luring young boys towards militancy,” he said.
In a series of raids, he said, police and security forces arrested nine people who were influencing young and innocent boys to join militancy.
“Police is appealing the parents to watch over their children and not to let them to fall into the trap militant propaganda.”
