Election training programme for the officials to be deputed for duties in the forthcoming parliamentary bye-elections for the Anantnag Constituency in Shopian started, here today.
The training programme was organized by the office of the District Election Officer, Shopian and is being held at Degree College Shopian, Town Hall, DIET Shopian and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian.
Officials from Education, PHE, FCS&CA, Revenue, Treasury, DIC and other departments participated in the training programme.
Master Trainers imparted first-hand training about election-related matters such as the role of presiding and polling officers, filling up statutory and non-statutory forms, handling of election material, etc.
On the occasion, the District Election Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, said that such training programmes are organized with an aim to equip the officials with technical knowledge about operating EVMs and other election related material.
In the entire training programme, about 1000 official will be trained about their roles and duties during the elections. The programme will conclude on March, 30.
