Police uses Lathi Charge to disperse protesters
Srinagar, Oct 17, KDC: Aspirants who appeared in the exams for the post of firemen and driver posts, in Jammu and Kashmir Fire and Emergency Department, accompanied by BJP leaders on Saturday protested against the alleged appointment of ‘blue eyed’ candidates in the department.
According to news agency KDC, dozens of aspirants accompanied by BJP Yuva Morcha leaders, held a protest in Press Colony Srinagar, who were raising slogans demanding thorough probe into alleged appointment of blue eyed candidates in Fire and Emergency department.
The protestors alleged that only 8th and 10th pass candidates were selected, while their names were dropped from the list for unknown reasons.
One of the protestors said that the highly educated candidates were dropped and school dropouts were appointed.
Meanwhile, Police chased away and used lathi charge to disperse the agitating candidates accompanied by BJP leaders, and detained several of them; however, they were later on released. (KDC)
