General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust ( regd) called on Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charanjeet Singh and raised the matter of the poor condition of heritage sites of District Reasi like the Bhimgarh fort and the Zorawar Palace.
The delegation led by Chairman Devinder Singh Kalhuria, Trustee Diksha and Riya Kalhuria informed the deputy commissioner that historic sites which are connected to the Dogra History require urgent maintenance at all costs.
They said that due to the negligence of the archaeological department and the successive governments the condition of heritage sites turned from bad to worse. They informed that these sites have potential to become major tourism attractions because of their historical importance but due to administrative apathy it turned into isolate places.
The trust also discussed preparations for Mera Bharat Mahotsav, for which GZSMT has been selected along with 74 other NGOs of the nation.
The event aimed at connecting people nationwide, creating awareness among the masses about different cultures ,places of heritage , history, etc.
