A gunfight is underway between militants and government forces in Chadoora sub-division of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official said that army and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off Durbugh village early Tuesday after inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the forces approached towards the suspected spot, the militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering an encounter,” he said.
The official said that one militant is believed to be firing from a residential house.
Meanwhile, local reports said that three heavy blasts were heard since 6 am.
They said that army blocked the Srinagar-Chadoora road.
More details are awaited.
