Srinagar 07 June : First batch of pilgrims comprising 630 devotees on Wednesday left from Hajj House Bemina to Srinagar International Airport for their departure to Saudi Arabia to perform their annual pilgrimage 2023.
While leaving the Hajj House Bemina premises, pilgrims exude happiness for being selected among a number of people yearning to perform hajj, which is one of five pillars of Islamic faith.
Total of 630 pilgrims are scheduled to leave today for Saudi Arabia from J&K today in two separate batches of 315 each. First flight from Srinagar International Airport to Jeddah Airport is slated at 3 PM IST with two hours gap in between for the second flight, which will take off at 5 PM IST.
As per the reports, Hajj Committee Chairperson Safeena Baig, who was present among other officials/officers, flagged off the Hajj pilgrims from Hajj House Bemina.
On the occasion, Baig said that among the first batch of pilgrims, there are a total of 166 males and 149 females. “In second batch, there are 173 males and 142 females. Besides, we tried to keep the best facilities available at the Hajj house. I believe the facilities will remain better in the future as well,” she added.
