NEW DELHI 20 April :- The NSUI and DUSU along with students from Delhi University held a spontaneous protest against the incidents of rape and discrimination that are on a rise under the NDA government. NSUI and DUSU office bearers organised the protest to raise the demands of students that have not yet been fulfilled by either the University Administration or Central and State governments.
All have expressed their concern for the student community in Delhi University but none of the above-mentioned sections have taken any concrete steps to help the students. The protest was held at Arts Faculty, North Campus, with almost 400 students joining in the protest to express their anger and resentment against the inaction of the NDA Government and
support being offered by its Ministers to protect rapists.
While protesting Students demands Implementation of UGC Guidelines with regard to ICC, Installation of CCTVs all across the campus for ensuring a safe and secure University, Deployment of Delhi Police personnel outside every college that comes under Delhi University.
The protest was joined by Shri Deepender Singh Hooda (Member of Parliament) and Shri Fairoz Khan (National President, NSUI) to offer their support to the cause of woman safety and to ensure that the authorities cannot ignore the voice and concerns of students. After the protest, Shri Fairoz Khan along with the students submitted a memorandum
to University Administration.
