Rajouri, Dec 18: The illegal parking of private vehicles along roadside continue to create traffic chaos across the city roads whereas concerned authorities watching like spectators.
The lack of proper parking space for vehicles results in frequent jams across the city.
Overcrowding cascades traffic in Rajouri city especially on Gujjar.Mandi ,JawarNagar ,Kheora road where riders openly violate traffic rules.
“Security men should control and smoothen the flow of traffic but ironically most of the vehicles on the road violate traffic rules and Police deputed to maintain flow of traffic failed miserably.” said a local.
“The Gujjar Mandi road has become accident prone and jams like situation remains off and on but no serious steps have been taken yet to address the problem of illegal parking as well.” said Pervez, a local.
It becomes hard for untrained or learners to use the road during office hours, He adds.
Whereas, the issue of illegal parking on road has been discussed several times with the concerned authority but all in vain.
Tata Magic, Auto walas park their vehicles on center of roads plus Gujjaramdi, Panaj Chowk Jawar Nagar has become a new place for parking.
Whole area of Gujjar Mandi has become a parking place and accident prone. Last year, District administration came with a rationalization plan but that plan also failed to see light of the day.
Besides busy Gujjar Mandi ,Kheora , Panja Chowk illegal parking .
The surprising part is that the traffic police and administration no longer bother to regulate the traffic.
Rashid Khan a social worker said it looks that everybody have turned out their social and moral responsibilities towards the betterment of this human society and traffic police also should realize their moral duty besides merely collecting revenue for the government .
“Now a days the Gujjar Mandi, kheora road has become the flash point of traffic jams and congestion of roads due to the rampant and haphazard parking on either sides of the roads Acute shortage of parking spaces rampant encroachments by illegal parking into major traffic bottlenecks.” he adds
