JAMMU, June 24: An urgent meeting of all the Trade/ Market, Industry / Transport Associations was convened at Chamber house today regarding the course of action to be taken by the Chamber if GST is not implemented before July 1,2017 in the State of J&K. The representatives of more than 150 associations were present in the meeting on this occasion. President Rakesh Gupta briefed the various association heads about the efforts being made by the Chamber for smooth implementation of GST in our state. It was unanimously voiced by one and all that GST has to be implemented before July 1 come what may as no business can be transacted interstate and all the associations authorized Chamber of Commerce & Industry to take whatever steps they deem fit to get GST implemented.
The house authorised the chamber to call for indefinite Bandh/ stop paying taxes / Gehrao the elected representatives / invite the opposition parties to Chamber house to justify their stand and so on if nothing positive is heard from the government side before June 27.
The other Office bearers present in the meeting include Rajesh Gupta, Sr Vice President, Manish Gupta, Secretary General and Gaurav Gupta, Secretary.
