    JMC MAYOR INSPECTS, STARTS VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS

    The Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta today on 15-06-2020 paid visit to the different localities of ward no: 28, 29 took stock of the ongoing construction work of Nallahas being executed by of UEED Sh. Surinder Choudhary Councilor of ward no: 29, Sh. Gourav Chopra Councilor of ward no: 28 Sh. Atul Bakshi, Sh. Sahil Sharma, Sh. Suresh Gupta, Sh. Parwan Sharma, Sh. Tarun Sharma and other prominent inhabitants of the Shakti Nagar & Gurah Bakshi Nagar concerned Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. O.P. Thakur Junior Engineer of UEED were also accompanied the Mayor during the tour.

    Mayor alongwith concerned Councilor inaugurated the construction work of laying of slab over the Nallah opposite Kali Mata mandir near PHE overhead tank Shakti Nagar, Jammu at the estimate cost of Rs. 2.90 lakhs only as well as laying of slab on nallah in between Rajpura Mangotrian & Gurah Bakshi Nagar areas of ward no: 28 & 29. These were the long pending demands of the inhabitants residing in these localities as people living there were suffering from foul smell and entering of dirty water into their houses from the last many years.

    Mayor told the Public that drainage & construction wing of the JMC has already taken up the job of renovation / construction of various Nallahas of Jammu City with an estimate cost of Rs. 200 Crore for the convenience of General Public. He further told that this particular Nallah is being constructed from Gurah Bakshi Nagar to Shakti Nagar at the estimate cost of Rs. 01.27 crore only and told that he himself alongwith each concerned Councilor is personally monitoring the construction work of the Nallahas in their respective wards of JMC so that General Public residing near the Nallahas may not suffer any more due to water logging & over flows of dirty water in the lanes which earlier causes lot of damage to the property of the people residing there during every rainy season and due to sincere efforts of all the councilors and department that last year no major damage was caused to the house hold articles of the citizens. He also directed the UEED to complete the construction work of slabs on the Nallahas within stipulated time period keeping in view the coming rainy season with quality work and upto the expectation of the public. The locals expressed gratitude to the mayor for the visit & listening to their grievances.
