Srinagar, June 12: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of veteran social figure Abdul Majeed Butt of Islamabad Kashmir who was father of great martyr Manzoor ul Islam , martyr Sajad Ahmad and father in law of Shaheed Hilal Ahmad Misgar. Yasin sahib along with JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Zonal organizer Bashir Kashmiri, district president Islamabad Muhammad Ishaaq Ganaie and others visited the bereaved family at Islamabad and expressed condolences with them. JKLF chairman reached Islamabad, visited the residence of the deceased and addressed a condolence meeting there. A condolence meeting was held at Rehatded Masjid which was addressed by JKLF chief. While paying rich tributes to the deceased, JKLF chairman in his speech said that he was a humble and dedicated person who tolerated many hardships for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir. JKLF chairman said that it was Shaheed Manzoor Ul Islam who pioneered the armed rebellion in Islamabad in 1990 and changed the course of our history. Being father of Shaheed Manzoor Ul Islam, the departed soul and his family always had to tolerate torture, humiliation and oppression at the hands of Indian forces and police but he and his family stood firmly against all odds and made valuable sacrifices for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir. While praising the struggle and sacrifices rendered by south Kashmir, JKLF chairman said that this part of Kashmir has always remained at the forefront of struggle and sacrifices and today when we are bidding farewell to the father of three martyrs we all should remember that a struggle that has such scarifies on its back cannot be defeated by any military might or police oppression. JKLF chairman said that Kashmiris are striving for a just cause and history bears a witness to the fact that no nation striving for its freedom was ever defeated by any military might or oppressive regimes. It is a historical truth that in a battle between the oppressed and the oppressor, it is the oppressed who always triumph and taste last victory and according to this historical truth, Kashmir and Kashmiris will triumph in their battle against illegal occupation (InshaAllah). He said that Indian state has unleashed a reign of terror against unarmed Kashmiris. More than one Lakh people have fallen to the bullets of Indian forces, thousands have been maimed and blinded and jailed, tortured and humiliated, but all these oppressive methods have failed to put Kashmiris into submission and InshaAllah will fail to do so in future also. While paying tributes to young martyrs and youth who are sacrificing their lives for the sacred cause, JKLF chairman said that it is Kashmiri youth who through their struggle and sacrifices are writing down new chapters of gallant and valor. He said that as a living nation it is our duty to remain steadfast and open-minded and safeguard our sacrifices and struggle against Indian conspiracies and oppressive tactics. While praying for the heavenly abode of the deceased Abdul Majeed Butt, JKLF chairman expressed solidarity with his bereaved family. After the condolence meeting, people in large numbers gathered outside the Rahatded Masjid to greet JKLF chairman and chanted slogans in favor of freedom, unity and martyrs.
