Kissan Tehreek holds protest in Srinagar against farmer bills
Srinagar, Sep 25, KDC: J&K Kissan Tehreek on Friday condemned the killing of Advocate Babar Qadri by unidentified gunmen, at his residence on Thursday.
While holding a protest against the recently passed farmer Bills in the Parliament, led by J&K Kissan Tehreek General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Malik, in Press Colony Srinagar on Friday, the protestors criticized the bill and raised slogans against it.
Terming the bill anti-farmer, they said that the bill will be disastrous in the interest of the farmers, while a handful of rich people will get benefitted by it.
While talking to media persons on the sidelines of the protest, according to news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) Ghulam Nabi Malik said, “First of all we condemn the killing of Advocate Babar Qadri who was brutally killed yesterday evening”.
He further said that Tehreek also condemns the bills which are against the interest of farmers, adding that it was passed by the ruling Government in parliament in an unconstitutional manner.
He demanded the revocation of APMC (Agriculture Producing Marketing Committee) Act, Essential Commodities and Contract farming Act.
The protesters also demanded reduction in petrol and diesel prices and raised slogans in favor of their demands. (KDC)
