Monitoring Desk,03-May;Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra has said that less regulation is best regulation for new Media and Entertainment industry. He was speaking at FICCI frames in Mumbai. He said that the government has received only 1 or 2 complaints against the OTT content and rest are being dealt by the self regulatory body of the industry.
Mr. Chandra said world is interested in Indian stories and culture. He appeals Indian producer to visit hinterland and bring more and more stories. He expected that large Hollywood studio will come to India in big number for production of various contents. Mr. Chandra assured government is ready to facilitate and support the industry. Last year government announced incentive scheme for film producers and government has issued 1st incentive over one crore few days ago to a film called ‘Inheritance’. He added, 4-5 projects are under process.
Mr. Chandra said that Prasar Bharati is undergoing transformation. Fresh content and many new serials will be launched in a month. Feature and regional films are also coming to Prasar Bharati, he added. Mr. Chandra appeals film makers and producers to collaborate with Prasar Bharati on revenue sharing model.
