Udhampur, Nov 30: In its continuing success of JKP’s offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, Udhampur police recovered approx 27 Kg of contraband substance Charas like substance from 02 narcotic smugglers at naka point Tikri, NHW, Udhampur.
Police party of PS Rehambal led by Inspector Chaman Gorka SHO PS Rehambal assisted by SI Jaswinder Singh IC PP Tikri under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid a naka at naka point Tikri, NHW, Udhampur for checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party stopped one vehicle (truck) bearing registration no. JK03J 6144 for thorough search. During search of said vehicle, approx 27 kg of charas like substance was recovered from the possession of 02 narcotic smugglers who were arrested on the spot. The identity of these narcotic smugglers were established as Danish Rehman S/O Abdul Rehman Dar R/O Bijbehara, Anantnag and Aabid Ahmed Reshi S/O Abdul Hameed Reshi R/O Bijbehara, Anantnag.
The said narcotics consignment along with the involved vehicle was seized. In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal and further investigation is underway.
