MAYOR & HIS TEAM INAUGURATES VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS IN THE CITY
Continuing his Endeavour to provide best development and Civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Madam Nidhi Magotra Councilor of ward no.17 today on 13/10/2020 conducted an extensive tour of Amphalla, Pacca Talab & its adjoining areas and kick started the work of laying of slab on the nallah as well as its renovation flowing through Pacca Talab of ward no.17. Sh Dinesh Gupta Councilor of ward no.18, Sh Balwan Singh Ex-councilor of ward no.17 alongwith prominent inhabitants of the area as well as Sh Arun Gupta Executive Engineer division –II , Junior engineer of the ward, concerned contractor & supervisory staff of Health and Sanitation section of JMC were also present there during the tour. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that an amount of Rs. 10 lacs has been sanctioned for this development work in terms of repair/laying of slab & other allied works of the nallah & the half of work has already been completed. He further said that the rest of the work was delayed due to covid-19 & shortage of material & non availability of sufficient labour & now the remaining work has been started to fulfill the long pending demands of the locals who were suffering great hardships while passing through this locality due to broken part of the nallah. He directed the concerned engineering section and contractor to complete this work within stipulated time frame by applying best quality & durable construction material & upto the satisfaction of the public.
Later Mayor alongwith Sh Satpal Karlupia councilor of ward no.32 also visited the different localities of the ward, met with the inhabitants who put forth their demands regarding deployment of more safaikaramcharies in the ward being the largely extended one, installation of more LED street lights in the leftover areas as well as rectification of defunct ones. Lifting of stray animals on routine basis, construction/renovation of remaining lanes/drains & other related issues. Mayor gave patient hearing to them& assured that all their genuine issues will be sorted out on priority basis. He also kick started the construction /renovation work of lanes/drains as well as black topping of the main lanes of Swarn Colony Trilokpur of ward no.32. Sh Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer, Sh Bal krishan Raina Junior engineer of division –II Concerned contractor, Saradar Upkar Singh, Sh Deepak Sharma, Sh Soni Sandesh, Sh Arvinder Khajuria & other prominent inhabitants of the locality also accompanied the Mayor during the tour. Mayor was apprised by the engineering wing that this development work has been started with an estimate cost of Rs 10 lacs only on the demands of the locals who were facing much difficulty due to pits on the road/ bye lanes as well as damaged drains from the last so many years in their locality. They thanked the mayor as well as Sh Satpal Karlupia concerned councilor for visiting their locality & taking keen interest to start this much demanded development activity.
Besides this, Mayor in presence of Sh. Vikram Randhawa Ex MLC, Sh. Vinay Gupta District President BJP Jammu, Sh. Jaideep Sharma Councilor of Ward No: 22 (Shastri Nagar), Sh. Bharat Bhushan Sharma Mandal President Satwari, Sh. Sahil Mahajan General Secretary Mandal Satwari BJP also inaugurated M/s Mahajan Drinks & General Provision Store situated near Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu. Sh. Parshotam Gupta owner of the Store, Sh. Raman Kumar Gupta, Sh. Vijay Kumar Gupta & other Prominent inhabitants of the locality were also remained present during the inauguration function which was held in a very simple manner. Owner of the Store told that he is committed to provide best quality soft drinks & other food items to the customers within reasonable rates.
Mayor further appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken within the jurisdiction of JMC in order to make Jammu really a smart city.
