    MEDICAL CAMP ORGANISED IN BORDER AREA BY HEALTH DEPT. RAJOURI.

    Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr. Suresh Gupta on the directions of higher authorities, organized a medical camp at Village Namblan under Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna-2016-17. The village is having 100 % Tribal Population and just I/2  Kms from actual LOC, where shelling from across the border is a routine matter. Around 220 persons of Namblan and its adjoining areas were examined by Specialists Dr. Sangeeta Parihar (Gynaecologist), Dr. Aadil Mateen (Pediatrician), Dr. Mohd Arshad (MD Radiology),  Dr. Mohd Yousaf (MD Medicine) and team of Medical officers comprising of  Dr. Mohd Khaliq (M.O), Dr. Myla Aslam (M.O), Dr. Sonia Vaid, Dr. Vibhuti Sharma, Dr. Aasim Beg along with Para Medical Staff.
    The camp catered for the medical needs of the locals of the area. The specialists carried out detailed check-up, diagnosed and distributed free medicines on spot. Old aged people, women, men and children were benefitted by the medical camp. Most of the Tests were conducted, on spot as the small Mobile Laboratory was established at the venue, with teams of Laboratory technicians. Few patients were referred to DH Rajouri and some in specialized laboratory for the Tests for which cost shall be born out of financial provision available under VKY. 04 Nos of Children were also identified and registered under RBSK for further Treatment
    Dr. Suresh Gupta while interacting with the Media said that, the medical camp was aimed at educating the locals about various lifestyle and waterborne diseases and diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Hepatitis and Typhoid etc.  . He said that Sh. Bali Bhagat, the Minister for Health and Medical Education Department is very keen to address the issues of public and always direct the health functionaries to provide the best health care facilities to the general public. Mr. Bilal Rashid Asstt. Director Planning, elaborated that 100 Students of Tribal Community from all over the District are being trained under Vanbadnhu Kalyan Yojna for which admissions shall be made shortly and Critical Care Ambulance for Rajouri District costing Rs. 27.40 Lacs is also being procured by Director Health Services Jammu besides checkup of Tribal Patients, for which funds were approved by the then Hon’ble Minister for Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulifkar Ali and have been released recently by Tribal Department.
    Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Block Medical Officer, Manjakote said that people of this area are very happy to attend the Medical Camp, where medicines are being distributed free of cost at their doorstep. He further said that he shall organize such camps in all areas and especially in Border Areas to provide the Health care facilities to the Public.
    Immunization of all left out children was also done on the spot by designated staff of Family Welfare Department as per the direction of Dr. Anis Altaf Nabi, Dy. CMO Rajouri. Pregnant mothers were properly guided to follow the Diet chart and also briefed for antenatal checkups.
