MGNREGA employees demand comprehensive regularization policy

Udhampur: MGNREGA employees have demanded the Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha to formulate a comprehensive regularization policy for the contractual employees working in MGNREGA Scheme of Rural Development Department (RDD). In a statement, Mr. Rakesh said that these contractual employees are the supporting staff of MGNREGA who are playing an important role in implementing the Scheme on the ground in Jammu and Kashmir. He has urged LG to chalk-out comprehensive regularization policy for these contractual employees who are well qualified and their livelihood depends upon their jobs and presently they are facing hardships because of their low salaries and for non regularization in the department”, Rakesh remarked. Also Mr. Charan Dass said that these contractual employees working in the department include Programme Officers, Technical assistants, M.I.S Operators and GRSs who are mainly handling the working of the department and handling centrally sponsored schemes i.e. 14th FC, SBM, PMAY (G), IWMP, CDF, MPLED, CD and Panchayat, Bad Pocket, PMAGY (Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gramin Yojuna). Also MGNREGA staff is performing duties in election as well in Covid19 pandemic.
