Jammu, 15-Jan;National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) urged the Jammu Kashmir administration to withdraw the fresh land
laws stating that these laws bar the extension of the lease to commercial properties in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, NDPI Chief Rajesh Gupta said that such laws are “anti-people” and will have serious economic
consequences for local people. “The order is restricting the further extension of the lease. Who will government
benefit now under the fresh laws? Why locals who are legally provided properties on lease are forced to hand
over.”
NDPI leader accused the Govt of pursuing anti-people policies and arbitrarily issuing orders one after the other
to further its anti people agenda especially in Jammu and Kashmir. He said it is really atrocious initiative on part
of the Govt to dislodge those people living on the said land for the last so many years.” Now the Govt suddenly
wakes up and brings a law to get the aforesaid land vacated least bothering on the common and indigent people
who will get deprived of shelter in the ongoing harsh winter conditions, which is really ironic as well as the folly
of the BJP’s proxy rule in this already traumatized region, he lamented. He said that the implementation of this
order will only lead to creating an atmosphere of chaos and confusion across Jammu and Kashmir.
NDPI president said that every government is bound to protect and secure the interests of local people but
unfortunately in Jammu and Kashmir things are happening otherwise. “Who they are working for. In the first
place, it is not the elected government. They can’t take big decisions that deprive the locals of their rights.”
