No road connectivity to Piyakul in Kahara tehsil

Thathri, 18 June: Piyakul village is one of the far flung area located in Kahara Tehsil of Doda district. A road connectivity was sanctioned and survey was done for only 2KMs by PMGSY but not work on ground since long time.
Many people remembered an accident on Thathri-Gandoh road at Piyakul on 24 April 2019, takes 5 lives on spot and injured more than 12 person. For which DDC Doda suspended Executive Engineer R&B special Sub Division Gandoh under vide order no. DCD/PA-06/19/30-34 Dated 24-04-2019 and deputed ACR Doda as enquiry officer and asked him to report at an earliest. Also DC Doda directed all the executing agencies to keep the essential roads in proper order so that the public may not suffer any more. But unfortunately the pain of the accident calm downs in some months and the road was firstly cleared but if we see present status of Thathri-Gandoh road it is in worst condition at various locations.
Taking to the main story about “Road connectivity to Piyakul village”, the villagers suffer a lot due to non connectivity of road to the village. The above accident happened on the main road near the Piyakul area but the Piyakul village is far from that spot. The reason of mentioning the incident is only that the administration orders “to keep roads proper” but departments violates the orders due to which people suffers a lot.
a resident of Piyakul village, Mukesh Manhas says, “No road connectivity to our village Piakul which is the bedrock of development. Since the PMGSY came into effect the survey of our road connection from the main road which is 2 km far, has been done very earlier but no immediate action took over it by the concerned department. We demanded and protested many time but no one paid heed to us. In this present time every far flung and remote areas have been given a road connection but our fate is that despite being near to mainstream road ,no appropriate action has been taken yet to redress our grievances. Still we are suffering daily issues like heavy carriage, sudden unforseen incidence which could lead to death because of delaying in medical treatment which is only due to lack of road, fire emergency, so on and so forth.”
“I just want to draw the attention of rural road development department through this digital message that our plight issues should be taken into consideration and deal with it seriously as a matter of high concern,” he added.
