    Panels to examine fee structure in pvt schools, nursing homes: Govt

    Jammu, Feb 12: The Government has constituted committees to examine and keep a check on fee structure in private Schools and nursing homes. In this regard, the government has issued an order here today, an official spokesman said.
    He said the order was issued following the directions of Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Department Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali. “For the issues pertaining to regulation of fee structure in Private Schools, a two member committee comprising Seema Khajuria Shekhar, Senior Additional Advocate General as Chairperson and Manoj Prabhakar, Magistrate / Deputy Controller, Legal Metrology Department, Jammu as Nodal Officer has been constituted. Besides, the department has constituted two member committee comprising Chander Gulati, Member Consumer Protection Council as Chairman of the Committee while Atul Gupta, Deputy Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Jammu as Nodal Officer to examine the issue of charges in Nursing Homes. Both these Committees have been asked to submit the report within one month,” the spokesman added.
    Expressing concern over irregularities in fee structure in private schools operating in the state and charges being imposed by Nursing Homes, The CAPD Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said this pertains directly to the consumers and no compromise would be made in this regard.
