    Patriotic zeal marked 74th Independence Day Celebrations at Kishtwar, Virtual platform used for streaming the pre-recorded cultural items by students and locals
    The 74th independence day celebration was today celebrated at kishtwar with great enthusiasm, fervour and national spirit here in the premises of the DC office complex Kishtwar.
      District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara who was Chief Guest on the occasion unfurled the tricolour and inspected the parade contingents.
    Brigadier 9 Sector RR, Vikram Bhan, Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik, Senior Superintendent Of Police Kishtwar Dr Harmeet Singh Mehta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, Chairman Block Development Council kishtwar Suresh Kumar, President Municipal Council Kishtwar Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, Joint director planning Mohd Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Development Kishore Singh Katoch, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kishtwar Dr Amir Hussain, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Anoop Kumar, DSWO Tariq Parvez Qazi, other District Officer besides the senior officers of civil administration, police, army, CISF,  prominent persons of the society, social workers and political leaders among others remained present on the occasion.
    Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar congratulated the people of the kishtwar on this auspicious occasion of  National importance which marks as the Dawn of the new era in the History of free India.
    DC highlighted the importance of this day by stating that after a 150 years long struggle against the colonial rule we finally got the freedom from the clutches of the British rule.
    A number of freedom fighters have laid their lives in the way for this freedom, so it must be remembered forever and we should strive for the preservation of its sacrosanctity, stated DC Kishtwar.
    During his speech, he underlined that it is the independent India that has emerged as a powerful democratic country in the world which has maintained the essence of unity, integrity and the brotherhood by virtue of its unflinching faith upon the basic virtues of liberty, equality and fraternity.
    Amid the COVID-19 threat  this year cultural programme was restricted to 2-3 items with due observance of COVID-19 protocols.
    To avoid the congregation in view of the COVID-19 19 threat information Department kishtwar streamed the pre-recorded cultural items by the school students on the social media platform.
    During his speech, DC Kishtwar counted various initiative undertaken by District Administration for the people of the Kishtwar in General and for the Youths of the Kishtwar in Particular.
    Speaking on the hydroelectric power potential he said that in the years the kishtwar district has gained prominence for being the greatest hub of the Hydroelectric Power Projects (HEPP) as various projects like Pakal Dul, Keru etc are under construction and many more are in pipeline. These power projects will not only make kishtwar district as power surplus but will also provide employment to hundreds of youths.
    He highlighted that at present the administration has provided 180 kanals of land for setting up small scale industrial estate at palmar.
    Referring to the achievements made in the field of education, he said that the students from district Kishtwar have proven their mettle and has been able to achieve the remarkable success in the field of gaining the highest positions and cracking the national level exams.
    He further added that the at present the work on the construction of four Govt Degree Colleges and 1 polytechnic college besides the construction of the SC hostel at Chhatroo and  Sarthal in the District kishtwar  is in the full swing and will be completed in the time-bound manner which will augment the educational infrastructure in the district and will cater to the needs of the poor and needy students at their doorsteps.
    He further said that to promote the sports and games in the district one Indoor sports stadium of the cost of Rs 3.82 crores is also in progress and will be completed soon.
    He further added that Kishtwar is known for good quality Saffron and to promote research and development a Saffron Park in the District is in the offing and land acquisition process for which is at an advanced stage.
     Besides for development  Zeera Park in the Paddar DPR stands submitted he added.
    He lauded the people of the kishtwar who have shown great coordination and cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic during these challenging times by virtue of which the District kishtwar has been able to be in the Green Zone so far.
    He further appealed masses for continuing the same cooperation in future by adhering to the COVID-19 protocols for the efficient and effective management and containment of this pandemic
    He stated that in spite of the unprecedented pandemic situation, the district administration has tried every possible way to provide the each and every possible help to the student community through providing of the online classes so as to mitigate their problems.
    He also lauded the efforts of security forces and health frontline workers who worked untiringly day and night in the fight against the COVID-19.
    Recalling the commendable job done the Agricultural department during the recent two-week-long Kissan Pakhwara, he stated that administration has facilitated the on spot filling about 20,000 KCC  forms and as a result, we were able to achieve the 100% progress in KCC sponsorship and sanctioning.
    DC further highlighted the achievements made by the district administration in outreaching the people of kishtwar during the lockdown period imposed due to spreading Coronavirus and thereby redressing their grievances at their doorsteps.
    He further highlighted that various developmental works like restoration of the proper  drainage system in the old habitations of the town, construction of the paid parking places near public places like the court complex,ITI , Bus Stand and Dak Bungalow kishtwar to avoid traffic congestion in the city are in the pipeline and will be taken on priority bases.
    On the issue of the drinking water facility in the kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, he assured that by December 2020 the Raigad WSS will be made fully functional and which will supply the town with an uninterrupted supply of safe and drinking water. He further added that at present the Naigad WSS is supplying 8 thousand gallons of water in Kishtwar town and it’s periphery.
    He also appealed to the public of kishtwar to maintain the peace, brotherhood and mutual trust which are prerequisite for the better development of kishtwar.
    On the occasion Corona warriors and employees were also felicitated for their outstanding contribution and meritorious services
    DDC also launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign in district kishtwar which aims to make Kishtwar Drug free.
