Srinagar, Aug 19: Questioning the Govt’s move to send four cabinet Minister’s to Delhi to seek legal advice on Art 35 A, Congress today sought clarity from the PDP as to what steps it was taking to safeguard the Special Status, which has generated debate in the entire Country.
Congress also asked BJP to clarify its stand on Art 35 A, as that, they are in coalition with PDP, but are opposing its partner on sensitive issues. Congress also blamed the PDP BJP for creating atmosphere of uncertainty in the State to serve their vested interests.
Addressing a day long convention of Party Delegates at Khanabal Anantnag today, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCCC) President G.A. Mir questioned the Govt move of sending four Cabinet Minister’s to Delhi to seek legal advice on Art 35 A, which is being opposed by its alliance partner (BJP) despite being in coalition. Mir also accused PDP of misleading people on Special Status, which is in great danger under the present dispensation.
He cautioned that any tinkering with the Article would be disastrous and asked BJP RSS to stop damaging the Special Status, the fire of which is going to engulf the entire state, he warned.
He told the gathering that it was evident to people from the day one that the coalition is full of contradictions, lacks any policy, besides having no roadmap to deal with the problems arising from time to time, but despite that both are in coalition opposing each other on certain sensitive issues responsible for the present prevailing situation in the State, Mir said.
He described the ruling dispensation as two sides of the river, but at the sometime both (PDP BJP) are in coalition to enjoy power only by not caring about the wellbeing of the people & development of the State, which has come to standstill in every respect, he said.
Mir said people have realized that since the day PDP BJP came into power, the situation turned from bad to worse, due to the misrule and mismanage on their part.
Mentioning that one wonders that despite huge damages caused to both life and property in valley, the PDP is behaving as nothing wrong has happened, but I can tell you that day is not far, when people in South, Central and North Kashmir would launch a valley vide agitation against the anti-people polices of PDP, Mir told the party delegates.
G.A. Mir urged upon the party delegates to remain vigilant and defeat the designs of PDP BJP hell bent upon to divide the people on regional lines for the sake of remaining in power. He also emphasized the need of reaching out to people to address their concerns.
Among others who addressed convention included MLA Haji Ab. Rashid Dar, Mohd Anwar Bhat Vice Presidents, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah, Mohd Abdullah Nadf, Shaheena Nadaf, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Irfan Ahmad Bhat, Block Presidents and Senior Party Functionaries, Contesting Candidates and others.
