‘Islamabad wants friendly ties with Delhi’
Islamabad, Aug 07: Newly-appointed Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif said on Sunday that said peace in India and Pakistan is related to Kashmir and without solving the issue durable peace cannot be achieved.
Speaking to media in Sialkot, he said Pakistan would not compromise over the issue of Kashmir and that “atrocities” in continue to take place in the valley.
He said that efforts are underway to bring relations with India back on track but not getting a positive answer from the other side.
The foreign minister said that Pakistan wants good relations with Afghanistan too, “but India will also have to play a part in this”.
Asif said that Pakistan has been fighting against terrorism since decades and it has reduced compared to before.
He said the foreign policy is in line with the wishes of Pakistanis and the country’s interests.
