JAMMU, MARCH 21: Professor Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Head Department of Earth Sciences, University of Kashmir, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Prof. Romshoo discussed with the Governor issues relating to ongoing research projects focusing sharply on identified challenges faced by the State as for example the rapidly emerging serious problems relating to Climate Change, issues relating to preservation of the fragile ecology, ground water management and so on.
After discussions with Prof. Romshoo the Governor has desired to have a further meeting in which senior government echelons would also be involved to discuss and identify fruitful approaches to research projects progressively relating to the resolution of problems faced by the people of the State.
