Budgam,May 13: Clashes erupted in many areas of Budgam district on Wednesday, after the killing of a 25 year old civilian, by CRPF Naka party in Khalisa Kawoosa area of Central District Budgam. Heavy clashes erupted, in Auduna and Kawoosa areas of Budgam district, after a the youth identified as Peer Mehraj U Din son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Auduna village in Mkahama area of Beerwah Budgam, was shot dead by CRPF Personnel near Khalisa Kawoosa, on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the protests were spontaneous, which turned violent and the groups of youth pelted stones on the government forces in native village of the deceased youth Auduna Makhama, near Beerwah and in Kawoosa area, where the youth was shot dead by the forces, earlier in the morning.
Police Lathi charged the angry protestors and used teargas shelling to disperse them. Many protestors as well as forces personnel are reported to have injured in the clashes.Additional forces were deployed in the sensitive areas of the district as a preventive measure.Meanwhile protests were going on, when reports last came.It is to mention that a 25 year old civilian was shot dead by CRPF Naka party in Kawoosa Khalisa village in Narbal area of Central District Budgam, on Wednesday morning.
The deceased, driver identified as Peer Mehrah U Din son of Peer Ghulam Nabi Shah, resident of Auduna Peth Makhama village in Beerwah, was driving a Waganor car bearing registration number JK02 AK 6702 towards Srinagar.
According to officials, when he reached near a check point in Narbal area near Khalisa Kawoosa crossing, he was asked to stop by the CRPF personnel manning the post, which he ignored and continued to drive. One of the CRPF personnel at the post took an aim at and shot him.The bullet hit his right shoulder, which inflict serious injury on to him. He was immediately shifted to SHMHS Hospital, where he was declared him brought dead.
The deceased is said to be belonging to a police family, as his father is working as Assistant Sub-Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police, and two brothers are also working with police department.Officials at SMHS Hospital Confirmed that the Man had received fatal injury, with the result he was dead, even before reaching the hospital.
“The bullet had hit his shoulder and made exit through neck. He had lost plenty of blood, which may have caused his death”, said the official.SSP Budgam Nagpure Amod said, “A civil vehicle fled from 2 nakas in Narbal Kawoosa upon which CRPF party fired in which one person got injured. He was shifted to hospital where he has succumbed.”“We are investigating the matter and details of the incident are being collected”, he added.Meanwhile a statement issued by the police, regarding the incident said that at about 1020hours on Wednesday, a civil vehicle, Wagon R, registration no JK02AK 6702 broke a Check point of J&K police and sped and came across another Check point of CRPF, manned by troops of C/141 Bn CRPF and jumped this Check point as well, adding that a convoy of Army, at that point in time, was passing through the adjacent road and fearing a sabotage, the CRPF jawan of C/141, manning this Naka, fired warning shots.
“This civil car was driving in the wrong direction of the road and that was even more alarming. When the car didn’t stop, despite warning shots, the jawan fired at the car and in turn, the driver was hit on his left shoulder’, reads the statement.The statement added that subsequently, he was shifted to SHMS hospital, Srinagar, where, he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Authorities on Wednesday snapped the mobile internet services in Budgam district, following the killing of a youth by CRPF personnel.The internet was suspended as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, in the wake of killing of the 25 year old youth, Peer Meharaj U Din son of Peer Ghulam Nabi, resident of Auduna Peth Makhama village in Beerwah, by CRPF Personnel.He was killed earlier in the day, after paramilitary CRPF forces fired at him near Kawoosa Khalisa village in Narbal area of central Kashmir Budgam.The man was going in his vehicle and was fired upon by the CRPF which hit him around right shoulder and chest.Family of Mehraj ud din who was killed by CRPF Naka party in Narbal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday morning contested CRPF claims and termed the killing as “cold-blooded” murder Ghulam Nabi, father of slain Mehraj ud din refuted allegation levelled by CRPF over killing of his son. “The claims made by CRPF regarding killing of my son are absolutely unfounded and deceitful. He was murdered in a cold-blood”, Ghulam Nabi said.He said my son had not ignored the directions of Naka party but was dragged out from his vehicle and was murdered on road. ” He was on way to Srinagar to drop his uncle but when they reached to Narbal, they were dragged out from vehicle and was fired upon”, he said.Wet eyed Ghulam Nabi said that Naka party of CRPF is now trying to sheild its crime while making concocted statement. “He was shot at chest with a deliberate atempt and claims of forces personnel the he was first asked to stop the vehicle then after ignoring directives he was fired at shoulder ‘ was an absolute lie”, and added, “There is no buyer for such claims”.
