Raghav appreciates MHA order’s for suspension of IPS Basant Rath
Jammu, July 29: The suspension of Jammu & Kashmir IPS officer Basant Rath on Tuesday for ‘misconduct and misbehaviour’ by Ministry of Home Affairs, was welcomed by “Raghav Mahajan, a social activist” in a press statement.
While speaking, Raghav said that Indian Police Service (IPS) is one of three ALL India Services as envisaged in the constitution of India and to become an IPS officer is not a small task, it requires a lot of hard work, one has to pass the Civil Service Exam which is extremely competitive because only a few hundreds of candidates out of applicants in lakhs were successful. He added that the IPS level officer has to play an important role in maintaining public peace, law and order and has to make a healthy police-public relationship. He further added that the misconduct and misbehaviour on account of an IPS level officer with the public is not a good gesture and commendable. He said that he was highly thankful and appreciated the decision taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs a few days back for the suspension of IPS officer Basanth Rath.
Raghav said that such suspension by MHA will be a learning message for all the officers and Public Servants, not to harass the innocent public, behave properly and always act as per law. He said that not only this but also, such suspension will also inspire public to have trust on the law enforcing agencies, public servants and moreover it will give a message at large that no one is above law. He further added that such decisions by the ministry always be appreciable at every front.
