New Delhi: Director Shankar’s much-anticipated project ‘2.0’ is unstoppable at the Box Office. Despite getting mixed reviews, the sci-fi venture is turning out to be a worldwide blockbuster and is set to become the next ‘Baahubali’ of the Indian cinema. In just 5 days of its release, the film has managed to collect Rs 451 crore and has supposedly turned out to be the biggest Tamil hit of all-time.
And looking at the dream run the film is having at the ticket window, we expect it to mint Rs 500 crore worldwide in coming days.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that the film has earned Rs 451 crore worldwide in just five days of its release.
Karan Johar has presented the Hindi version of 2.0 under his banner Dharma Productions. This happens to be the first Indian film that is directly shot in 3D. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. With 10500 screens globally, it is widest Indian release ever.
The sci-fi drama shows Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.
Academy award winning music maestro AR Rahman has composed music for the film. Reportedly, ‘2.0’ happens to be the most expensive Indian film being made to date at a budget of Rs 543 crore.
The film hit the screens on November 29, 2018.
