Reservation is a fundamental right of SC/ST/OBC: Kalsotra
Jammu 22.07.2020 An important Zoom meeting of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC UNIT was convened under the chairmanship of State President R.K.Kalsotra on 20th & 21st & 22nd of July 2020. The meeting was hosted by Ranjeet Kumar one of the active members of the Confederation. During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on the various issues pertaining to the general masses of SC/ST and OBC along with the new verdict of Supreme Court regarding reservation is not a fundamental right. After a brief welcome note, the State President provided good response and feedback to the participants especially about the Virtual rally which was organised on 18th and 28th June 2020. During his speech, he used humble and polite words and motivated the Confederation leaders of the state in an attractive way. The State President urged the participants to fulfil the target of joining the zoom rallies above Ten lac and stressed that participants must work hard day and night. He gave the example of National Chairman *Dr. Udit Raj* and his efforts to conduct meeting constantly. He appreciated the boldness of tribal people but showed his grave concern about the rising rape cases and other caste atrocities on the weaker sections of the society in all over J&K. He said that one of the reasons behind this is the lack of awareness of fundamental rights. At last, he described that the Confederation is neither a political organization not it has selfish motives. It works only for the welfare of deprived and downtrodden people and working to save rights which is enshrined in Constitution.
One can assess his generosity and kindness by this noble work that during this tough time of COVID 19, he has distributed ration among 2000 poor families and last year he organised 45 education awareness camp with illiterate mothers and their school-going children. All the participants assured him to work with zeal and zest for the betterment of SC/ST and OBC people.
