Srinagar, March 2: The High Level Official Committee constituted vide Govt Order No: 02-Coop of 2017 dated: 10.01.2017 to undertake comprehensive review of the existing Cooperative Laws including J&K Cooperative Societies Act 1989 and J&K Self Reliant Cooperative Act 1999 interacted with a large section of stakeholders at the office of the Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K here today.
According to a statement issued by the Assistant Registrar Cooperatives (Headquarters), who is also the Member Secretary of the Committee, the panel held threadbare discussions with stakeholders on the issues of strengthening the cooperative movement in the State and to effect necessary amendments/changes in the J&K Cooperative Laws.
“All the stakeholders were given patient hearing and views/suggestions put forth by them were taken note of for further deliberations by the Committee,” he said.
The statement said that the stakeholders who interacted with the Committee included Managing Committees, Chief Executive Officers of Cooperative Banks, members of the Employees Unions of Cooperative Department, members of Various Cooperative Societies , Managers / office bearers of Cooperative Marketing Societies, members of Poultry Cooperative Societies and others.
