JAMMU, FEB 21- A meeting of the Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held under the Chairmanship of MLA Satpaul Sharma, here today.
Legislators, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Raja Manzoor Ahmad, Mohammad Khalil Band, Yawar Ahmad Mir, Shah Mohammad Tantray, Shakti Raj and Mumtaz Ahmad Khan were present in the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the SIDCO fruitful and result oriented.
The Committee examined CAGs Audit paras pertaining to the SIDCO (Industries and Commerce Department) regarding land acquisitions and pending allotments.
Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Shailendra Kumar informed the committee about the initiatives and measures taken by the department to ensure the allotment of land within shortest possible time period and to avoid the un-necessary delay in the process and loss to the investors.
Threadbare discussion were also held on the land acquisitions process, working of the Industries policy in the state, status of IT Park, Food processing unit and creation of land bank by Industries Department in the State.
It was decided in the meeting that the Committee will next meet on March 7th to discuss same audit paras.
Among others, Accountant General, CAG Office, H Abbas, Managing Director, SIDCO, Amit Sharma, Director Finance, I&C Department, besides senior officers of SIDCO, Industries and Commerce Department, AG Office and Assembly Secretariat were also attended the meeting.
