Sawhney Visits Jammu East, Takes Stock of People’s Problems.
Jammu East Ignored and Neglected by the Administration: Sawhney.
Former Minister J&K Yogesh Sawhney recently visited Jammu East Constituency in order to examine the current state and issues of the residents of the area. He undertook an inspection tour of some of the areas to interact with the locals and find out the problems that they have been encountering. The people complained of poor infrastructure, lanes and housing conditions in the city, coupled with a lack of developmental initiatives by the government. Clamped houses and streets, lack of parking facilities, traffic congestion, miserable condition of the drainage system, broken and unrepaired streets were some of the other issues brought to light in the discussions.
One of the main issues that were highlighted by the shopkeepers of the City during the visit was the issue of the poor drainage system. It was said that the sewage leakage from drains running on either side of the roads was ruining their houses and shops. They had been demanding that the drainage system be fixed so that problems arising out of it can be resolved. Furthermore, people face traffic issues on a daily basis and have no place to complain.
Sawhney called attention to the plight of the residents of Jammu East who feel neglected and ignored and said that their problems are falling on deaf ears. He assured the locals that he would convey their grievances to the right authorities to resolve these problems in a timely manner.Sawhney was accompanied by DCC Vice Presidents Dr. Ramakant Khajuria, Pawan Dev Singh, M.L. Malager General Secretaries DCC Atul Sharma, Sushant Sharma and Vinay Dutta , Ward Presidents Ram Magotra and Ajay Kumar.
