Senior Advocate Abhinav Sharma, Spokesman BJP Jammu and Kashmir unit on Tuesday condemned the senseless killing of two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh in Kashmir’s Shopian, and a Kashmiri Pandit, who was also targeted in the same district recently, and appealed to the administration to go for the final assault against the terrorists in the Valley to end this vicious cycle once and for all.
In a statement issued to the media persons, the senior BJP leader said that killing of innocents in Valley in such a ghastly manner is unacceptable. He said that the time has come when the government should go out fully against the terror mongers to make sure that no one can target any innocent in the Valley. He said that the purpose behind these killings is to derail the ongoing peace process which has succeeded to a large extent and has opened new vistas of opportunities for the people to live a prosperous and peaceful life. “Such gruesome acts are meant to create scare among prospective investors in the Valley, who are vital to give a boost to its economy, generate employment and build modern infrastructure for its holistic development”, he added.
The senior BJP leader urged the administration and government to take speedy measures to review the security grid, boost intelligence network and intensify anti-terror operations including covert operations to eliminate those on whose behest such horrendous acts of terrorism are given shape. He however expressed deep condolences towards the bereaved families and demanded adequate ex-gratia relief for the kith and kin of the deceased persons including the Kashmiri Pandit.
