    Shabir Shah terms Rajnath’s remarks as ‘frustration’

    SRINAGAR, APR 13 :(Agencies) Strongly reacting against the statement of Home Minister, Rajnath Singh wherein he warned Kashmiri youth of consequences, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Thursday said those who brave bullets cannot be cowed down by such threats.
    In a statement issued to PTK, Shah termed Rajnath’s remarks as ‘frustration’ and said Kashmiris are used to such intimidations by the Indian home minister.
    “Indian leaders have a weak case; the pro-freedom spirit and resolve of Kashmiris has unnerved New Delhi which has now started issuing intimidations,” he said.
    Shah said those who picked up arms to liberate India from British are described as ‘freedom fighters’ while as bullets and pellets are showered on those throwing stones in self-defense. “This is the only means of resisting the oppression of 8 lakh occupational forces,” he said.
    On Rajnath Singh’s remarks on Pakistan, Shah said Pakistan is a stakeholder in Kashmir dispute while as the freedom movement of Kashmir is indigenous. “The people’s reaction on the encounter sites should serve as an eye-opener for Indian leaders. Those who brave bullets and pellets cannot be cowed down by intimidations,” he said.
    Meanwhile, Shah hailed the people for once again boycotting the “sham” polls and urged the international community to play its role on Kashmir without further delay. “The world community must respect the sentiments of the people of Kashmir and take initiatives to resolve the issue,” he said.
    Shah also reiterated his appeal to people to participate in condolence gatherings scheduled to be held in Budgam on April 14 in memory of Budgam martyrs.
    He supported the suggestion put forward by Anjuman Sharie Shian chairman Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi that Friday prayers should be offered at Behishti Zehra.
    Meanwhile, Freedom Party has expressed grief over the death of a lady in Tahab, Pulwama due to teargas shelling and said Indian forces want to create a reign of fear and terror among people.
    The party in a statement has expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
