Jammu,12-Jan; Army Chief General Manoj Pande has said that the situation along the northern border of the country is under control but unpredictable. He assured that Indian troops are adequately deployed to deal with any contingency.
Addressing media in New Delhi today, ahead of the Army Day, he said the troops deployed along the Line of Actual Control had been able to maintain a robust posture to defeat any evil design of the adversary in a firm and resolute manner. The Army Chief said India and China had been able to resolve five of the seven issues that were on the table.
General Pande said, the ceasefire at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir is holding well but cross-border support to terrorism still remains. He added that the Indian Army is focussing on modernization, leveraging of niche technologies, and Infrastructure development to strengthen the country’s combat preparedness.
