Srinagar, July 06:Renowned politician Mohammad Yaseen Choodisaaz on Thursday urged administration to consider the circumstances of low-income families residing in downtown areas while installing the Smart Meters.
In a statement issued here, Choodisaaz said that instead of imposing mandatory smart meter installations on them, let’s adopt a more compassionate approach that remains in the interest of general public.
“Introducing a flat tariff system can ensure affordability and accessibility to essential energy services until the economy experiences substantial growth,” he said.
He impressed onto prioritize energy equity, promote affordable pricing and strive for inclusive growth.
“Together, we can create a more just and sustainable energy future and I hope the administration takes public centric measures for relieving the woes of people in downtown,” he said.
