Samba;With the objective of overcoming challenges of border area , Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh today presided over the police- border puplic meeting at border village Mawa where hundreds of people belonging to sixteen border villages and senior police officers exchanged their viewpoints to chalk out effective strategy .
DDC member Asha Kumari , Addl.SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Hqrs Samba, Mohd Usman, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, Deputy SP DAR Samba, Ajay Anand, SHO PS Ghagwal, Inspr Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Samba, Inspr Deepak Jasrotia, Sarpanch Anita Choudhary, Naib Sarpanch Tripat Singh and Lamardar Sham Singh were present in the strategic police public meeting .
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba Benam Tosh said it was not his first meeting with the people of border area of Samba-Hiranagar sector and that he has been intimately associated with border residents of this area for over two decades. He appreciated the patriotism of border people and requested them to assist police to the maximum possible extent in the interest of the nation . SSP Samba assured that Samba Police would act tough against criminals, drug & illicit liquor peddlers, narcotics smugglers ,bovine smugglers, accused of crimes against women, thiefs and anti-national elements.
After listening to the DDC member , Sarpanch and other people, SSP announced that Jammu- Kashmir Police would organise ameliorating, talent hunt, sports and awareness programmes in the border villages on unprecedented scale and would also depute senior highly educated young Police officers to schools in border areas to take classes and inspire the students so that they stay away from drugs and other social vices.
SSP Samba accompanied by senior Police officers also visited and inspected Border Police Posts (BPPs), border ‘Naka’ points and also interacted with & briefed the border VDGs & SPOs to make them highly vigilant .
