With a mission to inculcate sportsmanship among village youth, 33 Bn CRPF organized Inter Village Volleyball Tournament, final of which was played here on Wednesday.
12 teams from different villages and Rural schools of Bhadarwah Tehsil participated in the 3 day tournament. After competing in round robin matches, Bheja and Panjsoo reached into the finals after defeating Thuba and Bhadroot simultaneously.
The high voltage final was played today at Boys Higher Secondary School Sartingal in which Panjsoo out-classed Bheja by defeating later 4 sets to 1.
Bheja started with a lot of promise and agility in the first set, but could not match the technique coupled with powerful volley and huge smashes of Panjsoo and eventually lost the game with a narrow margin of 25-20, in the next game Panjsoo won easily by 25-12.
In the third set Bheja made an astonishing come back and played their heart out in the marathon game and eventualy won it by 32-30.
In the fourth game Panjsoo bounced back and while displaying professionalism and discipline defeated Bheja 25-13, thereby winning the match and trophy with a final score of 25-20, 25-12, 30-32 and 25-13.
Both the teams were presented with winner’s and runner’s trophy and medals along with cash prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3,000 respectively by the Commanding Officer 33 Bt CRPF, A.Padma Kumar. Sandeep Kumar of club Sarounda was declared Man of the Match and Sameer of Qilla was adjudged as Player of the Tournament.
Beside CO 33 Battalion CRPF,A.Padmakumar, Officers from 33 Bn CRPF, Police, Civil and School administration who were present during the match and award ceremony include 2IC Neeraj Tyagi, SDPO Bhadarwah Brijesh Sharma, Tehsildar Masood Ahmed and SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Sambyal.
