Did someone say bad luck?
Are you superstitious? Do you believe in bad luck? If you ever catch yourself avoiding ladders and making sure you don’t open your umbrella until you are out the door, you might be more superstitious than you realize.
You may not think much of it because you’ve always practiced superstitious rituals without thinking; so has your mom, grandma, and uncle. But that right there is a superstition you follow without realizing it!
We all have superstitions and ritualistic practices to avoid bad luck. You might not even know you’re a bit superstitious but trust me, you are (at least a little) and your zodiac sign may be able to explain why.
According to astrology, there are certain traits and personalities associated with each zodiac sign ranging from a strong will to fearful disposition. Some people consider their sign to be the main reason they do or feel a certain way and even study how the planets are positioned after reading their daily horoscope.
Some people consider numerology, but don’t even realize that they are doing it. From lucky number on sports jerseys, to choosing what seat they must have when going to an event, they try to improve their odds of good luck. From sports to Friday the 13th, superstitions are everywhere. I know someone who literally WILL NOT watch an Eagles’ game without wearing a specific hat. You might be one of those people who considers carefully if you should date a guy or never date him based upon the color or time that you met each other.
Some superstitions don’t even make sense but we live by them anyway. I didn’t even know the origin of most well-known superstitions until I was looking them up to write this! For the most part, I thought zodiac signs and astrology were all wrong.
It’s just part of who you are and who you are depends on when you were born. Here is what each sign is most superstitious about according to astrology.
Aries (March 21 – April 19): A “Lucky” charm is your idea of a great gift.
Aries NEED to win. Whether it’s a sport, competition, or simply trivia at the local bar, an Aries will unconsciously throw on a “lucky” article of clothing. It’s just her competitive nature mixing with old-as-dirt superstitions, and she won’t part with that lucky charm anytime soon. If you’re going on a date with an Aries, see if she is wearing the same bracelet or shoes on the second date as well. It might be her superstition showing.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): You believe in “beginner’s luck.”
Sorry to break it to you, Taurus, but your stubbornness translates over to superstition. Did someone beat a Taurus at her own game? Nope, it was beginner’s luck. She’ll say there is no way a first-timer could be that good. A Taurus is stubborn to the core, which means you’re just lucky, not a prodigy.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Walking under a ladder must be avoided, but not because of safety reasons.
Taking a trip underneath a ladder would make anyone nervous, especially a Gemini. It’s bad luck, for one. But Geminis are innately nervous people and will avoid doing anything to heighten that. As nerve-wracking as the literal ladder is, having bad luck for 7 years is a nightmare for a Gemini. They are already indecisive, and always wondering if it was a bad decision or just bad luck would drive a Gemini insane.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): You won’t step on a crack because you’ll break your mother’s back.
This silly saying you chanted as a child really hit home for Cancers. As a very emotional and sentimental sign, a Cancer is very protective of her family. Just the thought of anything happening to a Cancer’s mom or anyone in her family or that she loves dearly is enough to keep her from stepping on ANY cracks EVER.
Leo (July 23 – August 22): Breaking a mirror puts the fear of god in you.
You can always seem to catch a Leo checking herself out in every mirror she sees. Leos are confident, borderline vain, and like to make sure they look good at all times. It’s easy to see why be
