Srinagar: A top Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander was arrested from Srinagar on Friday morning, sources said.
They said that police and army in a joint operation apprehended Anantnag District Commander Amir Wagay alias Ibn e Qasim from Srinagar.
Amir, sources added, was in Srinagar to build contacts and get treatment for an ailment.
They said that all his associates had been killed in several encounters in past couple of years and that he was “left alone”.
Amir, sources said, was involved in several deadly attacks on army and BSF convoys.
