Jammu, Mar 2 : In order to curb the menace of violation of traffic Rules, Traffic Rural Jammu has launched special drive against the traffic rule violators.
A large number of private/commercial vehicles including Buses, Matadors, Bikes, etc. were challaned and seized. The traffic team challaned 4520 vehicles out of which 471 violators were booked under the offence of overloading, 1466 against not wearing of Crash Helmets, 776 against non wearing of Seat Belts, 333 against without Driving license.Among other offences, seized 136 vehicles during the month of february. During the drive, the people were also counselled and asked to follow traffic rules.
Shaheen Wahid, Superintendent of Police Traffic Rural, Jammu has enjoined up the general public both drivers & pedestrians to strictly follow traffic rules and to be a part of smooth traffic regulation and for their own safety. She has further stated that violators shall be dealt with strictly in case of non-adherence to the rules.
