Monitoring Desk,26-May; US Defence Secretary, Lloyd Austin will visit India next month to advance discussions on bilateral defence cooperation. The visit comes in the run-up to Prime Minister Modi’s state visit.
Defence cooperation is expected to figure prominently among the outcomes. In a statement, Secretary for Indo-Pacific security affairs in the Department of Defence Ely Ratner said India and the US are now more strategically aligned than ever before.
He said defence relationship with India has always been top priority for America and could not continue in business as usual mode.
